IS YOUR KAKADU PLUM SUSTAINABLY SOURCED? Yes! It is is collected sustainably, with methods detailed as follows: The collection of Kakadu Plum is permissible under a Territory Parks and Wildlife Permit which has several terms and conditions in place to ensure the sustainable collection of the fruit. Firstly, the fruit must be collected within a designated one hectare area of Crown Land outside the Kakadu National Park and collection is prohibited within the Park or any other protected area in the vicinity. Harvesting must only be undertaken by hand and collection must be spread across the entire plot. Total harvest at any time must not exceed 20% of fruit present on plants within the plot and with a maximum of 50% collected from any one plant. Therefore, adequate local stocks of the species are maintained to provide seeds for natural regeneration. Records of the annual harvested biomass are submitted to the Territory Parks and Wildlife Service each year for review prior to reissue of the permit. In addition, hygiene requirements are outlined under the permit to ensure pests and diseases are not introduced into the area. Further, the permit is issued subject to the provisions of the state’s Aboriginal Sacred Sites Act and permits are advised to contact the Aboriginal Protection Authority before undertaking any activities to ensure indigenous heritage artefacts or cultural sensitives are not comprimised.
IS YOUR NORDIC PEAT SUSTAINABLY SOURCED? Our peat land covers around 10 to 12 Hectares and around an inch of Peat is deposited every year. The maths goes like this: Every year our lane lays down 2.5 cm of new peat. Every square meter of our land is increased in volume by 25,000 cubic centimetres. Our 12 hectares produce 3 billion cubic centimetres of new peat. That is 3,000 metric tonnes of peat with trapped water and CO2. Hence approx. 750 metric tonnes of dried peat. So, in terms of sustainability, we harvest only up to a maximum of 500 metric tonnes per annum, (66% of new deposits, leaving a nett. increase of 33% on our land.) In terms of the carbon foot print, our peat land and with all the associated trees, shrubs and foliage take up (carbon sink) 1,850 metric tonnes of CO2 annually. In ""layman terms” the equivalence of 110 round the World trips on an aircraft in first class, or in effect flying continuously around the Globe. As for carbon footprint we are a negative producer, sinking far more CO2 than is used to make our product.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS? Products can take up to six weeks to show full results, due to the time it takes for your skin cells to turnover and the results of any products to reach the surface. Consistency is key, so apply regularly even if you’re not seeing the effects straight away. It can be very tempting to increase use of some products to try and see quicker results, don't overdo it though. More is not necessarily more, and overuse can cause irritation and sensitivity.
