C-50 Blemish Night Treatment | The INKEY List

• Only use in your PM skincare routine, replacing moisturizer
• As the last step in your routine, gently apply a pea-sized amount of C-50 Blemish Treatment and pat into the face and neck.
• Once absorbed leave to work overnight and wash off in the morning
• To help prevent dehydration we’d recommend to use this treatment 2-3 nights a week so you can use moisturizer with your routine on the other night.
• Apply SPF as the last step in your AM skincare routine.

  • During the day, Succinic Acid Treatment can be applied up to 3 times a day to clear blemishes fast & reduce inflammation.
  • As this product is exfoliating, avoid using at the same time as AHAs (Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Lactic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar or Mandelic Acid), Beta Hydroxy Acid, PHA Toner, Vitamin C or Retinol.
  • Use on alternate nights.

To keep your product working at its best, we recommend storing in a dry, cool place (ideally between 59-77 °F) and keep out of direct sunlight. Avoid direct contact with eyes. External use only. Keep out of reach of children.

CAN I USE IT EVERYNIGHT? We recommend using your C-50 Blemish Night Treatment 2-3 night per week. This should be your last step during your PM routine, in place of your moisturizer. It is important you moisturize your skin during all of the other nights.

CAN I USE MOISTURISER BEFORE OR AFTER? Follow your usual skincare recipe but replace your moisturiser step with this night treatment as your final step to help reduce and prevent breakouts. This is because it is unlikely to layer well with moisturisers. If you do wish to use a moisturiser, we usually advise to wait around 30 minutes between C50 and a moisturiser, to ensure it layers well!

CAN I USE IT DURING THE DAY? We usually recommend this for PM use only – this is due to it being unlikely to layer well with your following products used in the AM. However, if you would prefer to use this in the AM, allow 30 minutes for this to absorb and follow with your moisturiser and SPF.  

CAN I APPLY JUST TO THE BREAKOUT? Yes! You can use this one as a targeted treatment on a breakout if you wish. You can also apply to the back and chest to combat body acne.

CAN I USE IT ON MY BODY? You can use it on areas of your body where you are experiencing breakouts. However, please ensure you are patching testing on the affected area before use. Learn more about back and chest acne >

IS C-50 AN AHA OR BHA? It is a BHA.

CAN I LAYER IT WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS? We do not recommend layering with exfoliating acids (Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar or Mandelic Acid), Beta Hydroxy Acid, PHA Toner, Vitamin C and Retinols as this may lead to irritation. We suggest using these on alternative evenings and ensuring you start of slowly to ensure you don't sensitise the skin. What products should I not layer together? >

AHAS VS BHAS - WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are chemical exfoliators. Water-soluble, they work on the surface of your skin, encouraging cell turnover to reveal a brighter, more even complexion. Use in the PM and protect your skin with SPF during the day. Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) are also chemical exfoliators. They are oil soluble, which means they work deeper in the pores, helping to target blackheads and reduce the bacteria that can lead to breakouts. Use AM or PM and protect your skin with SPF during the day.

WHAT IS C-50? C-50 is our blemish targeting overnight gel treatment that contains Stay-C® 50. It is registered trademarked symbol complex combining Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

WHAT'S THE % OF SALICYLIC ACID? C-50 contains 2% Salicylic Acid.

WHAT'S THE % OF VITAMIN E? C-50 contains 0.015% Vitamin E (Tocopherol)

WHAT'S THE % OF VITAMIN C? C-50 contains 0.015% Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Palmitate).

WHAT ELSE CAN HELP REDUCE BREAKOUTS FAST? You'll never be able to prevent blemishes and breakouts completely but some products can help reduce the frequency of outbreaks and help them heal quicker. Succinic Acid Treatment can be applied up to 3 times a day to clear blemishes fast, reduce inflammation and prevent clogged pores with our non-drying, targeted treatment. With a cream formula, it is easily layered under makeup without flaking. While products like Niacinamide can help control excess oil production helping minimize breakouts and preventing further blemishes.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS? Products can take up to six weeks to show full results, due to the time it takes for your skin cells to turnover and the results of any products to reach the surface. Consistency is key, so apply regularly even if you’re not seeing the effects straight away. It can be very tempting to increase use of some products to try and see quicker results, don't overdo it though. More is not necessarily more, and overuse can cause irritation and sensitivity.
