Hair type: Fine, straight, oily/reactive scalp; wash every 2-3 days, air dry
I decided to give this a go after I suddenly started to get product build-up/ flakey scalp a few months back. Since I have fine hair with an oily scalp I am a big user of dry shampoo, and out of nowhere I started to get flakes showing up in my scalp. Changing my shampoo, double-washing, etc etc did nothing to shift them so I bought this as a throwaway.
When I bought this it was in the old aluminium bottle and the instructions didn't say whether to use on wet/ dry, fresh or day-old hair (which for a tiny bottle costing ~£15 you kind of want to know). I tried using it as the instructions suggested - leaving it in 10 minutes before washing on (I guessed) dry hair - and I didn't really notice much of a difference apart from the product flakes reducing slightly.
Second time round I ignored the instructions and applied it to my scalp using a dropper I kept from a TO bottle - definitely ended up using more than the 10p-drop size (more like 3x that)- let it soak in/dry overnight and washed my hair the next morning. THAT is when I got the results I had been looking for - my scalp felt a lot fresher, the product flakes were gone and for the next couple of days my hair got oily at a slower, more manageable rate.
I now use this as part of my usual routine, for around ~every other wash(?), depending on which point I'm at in my cycle as an overnight leave-in and it really helps prolong the useable life-span…
