• Avoid using any other Retinol-based, AHAs, BHAs, PHAs or benzoyl peroxide products at the same time in your PM routine as this can lead to over exfoliation and sensitised skin. Use our Acne Solution 5% Benzoyl Peroxide in your AM routine & Acne Clearing Moisturizer in your PM routine. Avoid mixing with Vitamin C products at the same time (Use Vitamin C AM and Acne Clearing Moisturizer PM).
• Acne Clearing Moisturizer is a specialized treatment that has been formulated for people who have stubborn and persistent active acne breakouts. For those who don’t have any active acne, but have oily, blemish or breakout prone skin, we suggest Omega Water Cream. 
• If you are currently taking any prescribed medications or treatments for acne, please consult with your doctor before using. 

When introducing a new active to the skin, some people may experience pimples or ‘purging’. For more information around purging, please refer to our latest blog post.

Skin irritation and dryness is more likely to occur if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If irritation occurs, only use one topical acne medication at a time. Skin irritation may occur, characterized by redness, burning, itching, peeling or possibly swelling. Irritation may be reduced by using the product less frequently or in a lower concentration. Stop use and ask a doctor if irritation becomes severe.

CAN YOU USE ACNE CLEARING MOISTURIZER IN THE AM? No, as NovoRetin™ contains 0.2% Retinol which increases skin sensitivity during the day. We always recommend using SPF in your AM routine, after using Acne Clearing Moisturizer in the PM. 

CAN I USE THIS EVERYDAY? Start using Acne Clearing Moisturizer twice a week and gradually increase to every night once your skin is used to it, ONLY if tolerated. As your skin builds tolerance, the frequency can be increased to every night but if you increase skin sensivity, reduce to twice a week or as desired.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE? Use a small amount, just a pea sized will be enough. Do not excess the recommended dosage.

CAN I USE THIS LONG TERM? Yes, you can use it long term only once your skin is used to it and ONLY if it tolerates it.

CAN YOU USE A RETINOL SERUM AT THE SAME TIME AS THIS MOISTURIZER? No - we don't recommend using alongside Retinol Serum as NovoRetin™ contains 0.2% Retinol which improves the efficacy of using Retinol so it is works effectively without needing higher % of Retinol.

WHAT IS THE INGREDIENT NOVORETIN™? NovoRetin™ is effectively a Retinol booster that's proven to increase the effects of Retinol on your skin, by improving surface skin cell turnover and improving the appearance skin texture.

WHEN SHOULD I USE OMEGA WATER CREAM VS ACNE CLEARING MOISTURIZER? Omega Water Cream, whilst delivering hydration, also helps to minimizes excess oiliness and is suitable for people prone to blackheads. It was not formulated specifically for acne or blemishes. NovoRetin™ has been specifically formulated to target acne/ blemishes.

WHAT IS ACNE AND WHAT CAN CAUSE ACNE? Acne is a common skin condition where the pores of the skin become blocked/clogged resulting in different symptoms.  Pore blockages produce blackheads, whiteheads and other types of pimples and clogged hair follicles or pores cause acne (hair follicles are small tubes that hold a strand of our hair).  There are several glands that empty into our hair follicles and when too much material is inside the hair follicle, a clog occurs.

WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSES PORES TO CLOG? Sebum: a sticky oily substance the body produces in order to keep the skin moisturized and protect the skin barrier. It's made up of a collection of fat molecules, waxes, and squalene.   Bacteria: Small amounts of bacteria which naturally live on the skin. If we have too many bacteria, it can clog our pores. Dead skin cells: Our skin cells shed often to make room for more cells to grow. When our skin releases dead skin cells, they can get stuck in our hair follicles.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE WITH ACNE USE A MOISTURIZER? When the skin becomes dry, our body produces more oil. The extra oil can clog pores, which may lead to more breakouts. The right moisturizer can prevent the skin from becoming dry and uncomfortable and it can also help to clear acne and breakouts and prevent new ones.
