If your skin is dry or easily irritated, staying at 2 to 3 times a week long term is a perfectly good outcome, not a failure to progress. A gentler acid like PHA is also worth considering.

What Results to Expect and When
Around 2 to 4 weeks, expect texture improvements. Skin feels smoother and fine congestion starts to settle.

Around 8 to 12 weeks, with consistent use, you get the fuller difference. Long-standing blackheads take the longest, and they do improve.
